Recycling begins with the collection and preparation of waste to get a qualitative feedstock

To create plastics, many renewable alternatives to fossil chemistry are under development in various stages. This international conference is all about turning waste plastic into (new) plastics with a focus on collection, cleaning, sorting and pre-processing circular feedstocks, as source for mechanical and chemical recycling.

Collecting and sorting
Recycling begins with the collection and preparation of waste. A harmonised process for waste management collection and separation is key, rather than the patchwork of practices we often see today.

Input for chemical and mechanical Recycling
To optimise the output of recycling processes, we need to better understand which contaminations are critical for each of the processes, and how these can be removed during the pre-processing phase.

During the conference the (inter)national speakers will present the current and future status of collection and preparation of circular feedstocks and the consequences on the whole waste management cycle with a focus on mechanical and chemical recycling.

The following topics will be covered during the conference:

  • View of the European waste management industry on chemical / mechanical recycling developments and vice versa.
  • Sorting
  • Washing
  • Business models
  • Start-Up initiatives

Who should attend:
